FAQs

What is transformational coaching?

Transformational coaching is a powerful way to explore one’s personal beliefs and values and how they shape your experience of life and behaviors. It’s a non-judgemental, open, collaborative conversation taking place in a confidential space. It is client-led - this means that it focuses on the client’s own thoughts, challenges, outcomes and goals. These can be professional, personal, relationship or more existential goals. Transformational coaching supports a journey of self-exploration which can give you greater self-awareness to examine and reshape areas of your life.

How does what you do differ from life coaching?

I am a sort of life coach with a specialization in and preference for transformational coaching. My own experiences support my belief that creating change is a deeply transformative process that goes beyond “just” goals and outcomes. That means that I like to go deep - delve into motivations, beliefs, values, intuition and inner knowing - and I will invite you to examine all aspects of your life as everything - the personal, professional and everything in between - is intertwined.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

While there many similarities and transformational coaching draws upon research and methodology from the world of psychology, coaching differs in that it is future-oriented. Therapy focuses on past traumas and issues to change habits, repair and/or improve relationships and work through emotions - it works with the past.

Coaching focuses on thoughts and behaviors happening now, in a present moment, and how they affect one’s life, and looking to set goals, accompanied by a supportive system to change future outcomes. Transformational coaching assumes that the client is creative, resourceful and whole and so am I.

I am not a therapist and I stay in the coaching space. If I believe that I am not able to support you and that a therapist might do so better, I will inform you at any given moment. Of course, you can have coaching and therapy happening in your life at the same time, I just request that you inform both parties involved for mutual, professional transparency.

How do I know if I need a coach?

You might never know if you “need” a coach but the simple fact that you’re here was probably the result of a search for “transformational coaching” or “life coaching” in a search engine and that might be a sign that you are seeking support to change something in your life. A coach can be a great support if you are looking to increase your confidence, deal with your imposter syndrome, find a sense of joy and purpose in your life, define and accomplish goals (and a plan to achieve them) and many more things. I invite you to tune into your intuition and see what it says. If you’re curious, book a discovery call - I’d love to meet you.

What is a discovery call?

This is a 30-minute complimentary call where you and I get to chat and discover if we have good rapport and can work together. Transformational coaching is a collaborative practice and it really helps to feel each other out before committing to a process. Plus, you get to ask me whatever question you like, I will surely have a few to reflect back to you.

I will also explain how I like to work, what you can expect from me and what is important for me to include in our agreement. It comes with no obligation and is a totally no-pressure chat to meet each other.
